The Awakening: Part One (The Lycan War Saga #1)- Book Review

The Awakening: Part One (The Lycan War Saga #1)- By Michael Timmins

This book was difficult for me to put down. It is very fast-paced and incredibly detailed oriented. Something I often find lacking in a lot of Fantasy novels I have read. The Awakening: Part One, is more than just a story, it is a series of stories of people that find themselves linked together through one event.

As I was reading, I found myself wanting to know more about Kestrel and Sylvania. The story between these two is what drove me to continue reading. The prologue of this book reeled me in as I was desperate to see where the story was going to go from there. To my surprise, it went in a direction that I was definitely not expecting.

What I will say is that at times I did find it a little difficult to keep up. Simply because the story switches points of view quite a bit. This is not a bad thing as I felt this kept the story engaging and interesting, but it did take me a bit to realize whose point of view I was in at points. What I will say is that I appreciated the building of each character that is somehow important to the story in their own way.

It leaves me wanting to get to Part Two because I want to know what happens next. If you are into action, detail, different points of views, and Druid mysticism; then this book is definitely for you.
