Things Be Happening!

Hey all! I know I’ve gone MIA again, I apologize for that. Things have been hectic on my end. Between school, therapy, and work, I haven’t had much time for the things I would like to be doing.

I have been working on promoting Daughter of Athena and I have a couple of events coming up, so I’m excited about those.

I have also been working on the sequel to Daughter of Athena and I hope to have it done within the next couple of months. We will see about that though haha. Sometimes I’m a little too eager for things.

Anyhow, just wanted to stop in and say hi as well as update you all on current events! Much love!

Oh The Frigid Cold

Sometimes I wonder why I still live in Minnesota. I mean, I was moved here as a child so it is not like I had much choice in the matter. There is also the fact that I don’t really see myself living anywhere else. EXCEPT, for days like these.

It is so cold that my nose hairs freeze the second I walk outside. That is absurd and quite frankly, this weather is just disrespectful. I would rather be home writing or doing homework but unfortunately, every one else at the office is out today, which means that I have to be here. Honestly, I’m glad I am privileged enough to have a vehicle because I don’t know what else I would do. Normally, I take the bus to work but I just could not do it today.

I hope everyone else is finding ways to stay warm. I know I’m wearing way too many layers and I’m uncomfortable at my desk haha. We will see how the day goes but I cannot wait for this polar vortex to be over.

Reviews

Reviews are slowly but surely rolling in for Daughter of Athena, and I must say that I am really happy with what I’m seeing. Overall, people seem to love the book, I have not received a review under 4 stars yet. Honestly, I’m a little shocked. I was quite ready for people to tear this book to shreds haha. Glad that’s not happening.

Promotion is tedious and sometimes very difficult. Often things cost money that I do not actually have at the moment. Hopefully at some point I will be able to spend more to get my book at there but for right now, I am satisfied with the work I am doing. Still trying to get a book signing set up somewhere, I just have to make the calls that are necessary to do so. Not to mention, the semester has started and I’m up to my ears in homework right now.

So, as far as reviews go. Keep reviewing and keep sharing with your friends! It is immensely helpful to me and I am grateful for every single review or share I receive.

I’m Back (Again)

Yes, I know; I have been away for a while. I have been writing but most of all I have been focusing on my mental health. Something that is very important and crucial to my ability to write. It has been a journey but I’m finally starting to feel like a person again, so I guess that’s better than nothing.

Daughter of Athena is still waiting to hear back from agents (yes, I refer to my manuscripts as if they are a person). I’m hopeful but I’m not gonna lie, those rejections hurt a little bit. I’m thrilled about the story and I think that other’s will enjoy it as well. If it comes down to it, I have zero problems with self-publishing it as well.

I am also back to working on the sequel to Imitatore. I took a break from the story because I wasn’t entirely sure where I wanted to go with it. Now that I have an idea, and a small spark of inspiration; it is back in my rotation of works. I also recently self-published a collection of poetry, which you can find on Amazon. It is called Legal Pad Poetry: Poems From Yellow Paper. I hope you enjoy it!

Alrighty, that’s enough out of me. Back to writing!

Yay!

My book signing at Barnes & Noble was far more successful than I thought it would be. I actually sold out of books. That is so unbelievable. Thank you to everyone that made that happen!

While I know Imitatore isn’t perfect and could probably use another revision (I am highly impulsive and don’t think things through sometimes); I am glad to see that people are interested in it and even enjoying it. It is a book you have to have some patience with, this much I know but give it a chance.

I hope to build upon things in the second book. So all of the questions that people have to Imitatore will most likely be answered later down the line.

I am also working on another novel that I am really excited about that. I will tell you more once I get closer to finishing it. I also have to decide exactly what I want to do with it. While self-publishing is great, it is a lot of work on my part as well. So there are things I have to consider.

Anyhoo, that’s all I have today. Hope everything is going well for everyone else!

Much love

Another Journey

I have been away writing and working on promotion, things like that. I also have to be honest and say that I have been slightly isolating myself as well. I am on a new mental health journey and it is taking a bit of a toll on me.

All my life, I have been the girl with anxiety and depression. That’s what it has always been, nothing more, nothing less. I am reaching a point in my life and journey where I am now realizing that it may be much more than that. I have to get an assessment and confirm what this is before I tell anyone. Just know that I am still here, still writing, and still very thankful for you all.

I hope to see you at my book signing on April 7th!

Hi-Yo!

I promise I am still here! I have just been so busy and so sleepy that I keep forgetting that I have a blog to keep up to date with. I have been working on writing mostly. I also sent Imitatore to an agent just to see what would happen. I am not expecting much from that endeavor but I figured it doesn’t hurt to try. It has already been getting such positive reviews and it’s only been out for a month or so now. I realize that this probably doesn’t actually mean anything but I’ll never get anywhere if I’m too scared of putting myself out there.

I am also currently working on another book! Title is to come but I am super excited about this story. I feel myself growing as a writer with every chapter I churn out, so I am really proud of that. What I need to work on is outlining (I rarely ever actually do it). Most of my writing is basically shooting from the hip but I need to find some structure somewhere. It is definitely a process but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it.

Besides all of that. I will be signing books at Barnes & Noble on April 7th! Join my mailing list for more information about that!

Thank you all for being here! You are greatly appreciated!
